Big Rigs 'n Lil' Cookies!

Welcome to my blog!! My name is Kris, and here I will give you a little introduction to my world. I live in southwest Wisconsin, it really is a beautiful area. All four seasons are extreme, and with our hillsides and Mississippi River Valley, they are stunning... Even the winter months. By January, I will be complaining endlessly about the winter, but in December, it is pretty!

My fiance and I live in the middle of nowhere! We do some crop farming, and we both work off the farm as well.  I take care of administrative work for a local small business, and love it.  We also have our hands full with our pets.  When we combined households, we ended up with four indoor cats, that has us at maximum capacity.  Outdoors, we also have our dog, an Australian Shephard, who rules the homestead.  We added two barn cats to our family, to handle hunting the rodents and keeping the mouse population under control. Most recently we have added chickens to the farm. I thought they would be farm animals, and not pets, but we do love them as much as everyone else!

When we are able to get away, we love road trips!  Gatlinburg, Tennessee over to Asheville, North Carolina, is always my favorite destination, but I am always excited to take in new sights and visit new places.

  1. Asheville, NC is one of my favorite places too, but that's because they have a Hampton Inn hotel there and that is the only chain of hotels we can stay in because of our bad backs. They have the best beds! :) LOL!

  2. Hello.....I just joined your site and I really, really, love it. Your recipes look absolutely amazing and I can't wait to try lots of them out. I'm off to the kitchen to bake up a batch of those pumpkin bars....ummm they look so yummy. I too live in a very cold winter climate up here in Maine with my husband. We are old folk and are retired. I know exactly what you are talking about when you say how beautiful the winter landscapes are but by mid-January my inside voice is screaming get me out of here. We live on 3 acres but do not farm...I so wish I had the energy and stamina to do so but unfortunately I don't. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely blog and recipes.

  4. Hi!
Just found your blog, because of your cute name, Sugar cookies to Peterbilts. My hubby has owned 2 Petes, and I sent along many sugar cookies on his long hauls. I checked out your recipes. I am going to make the Roasted Tomato soup and the Coconut Crisp Cookies. I am going to follow your blog though 'Bloglovin". Hope to check in often. Thanks for the great photos and the yummy recipes.

  5. Hi Kris,

Is there any way to get a copy of the Mary Swanson cookbook? I too have lost my sister (Feb 2013) and my mom (March 2011) to cancer. I love cookbooks and would love to support this cause. If its possible, can you give me your e-mail address and i will reply to you with mine?

    Thanks!
    Cindy
